Questions
Do I need an account?
No. On mobile, the one-time unlock is an in-app purchase tied to your device, no login involved. An account is entirely optional and only useful if you want a purchase to also work on another device (desktop, or a second phone) — sign in with an emailed link, no password, and link further devices with a QR code.
What's the difference between free and paid?
Free gives you every tool with no limits — the only difference is a small watermark in the corner of your exports. The one-time unlock removes it.
Do my photos leave my device?
No. Editing, slicing and export all happen client-side in your browser or app — your photos are never uploaded anywhere.
What's the difference between a carousel and a panorama?
A carousel is a set of separate Instagram cards meant to be swiped through. A panorama is one continuous image that happens to be sliced into cards, so it lines up seamlessly across the swipe.
Is Framescrll available on iOS and Android?
The web app works today at framescrll.com. Native iOS and Android apps are in progress — store links will go live here once they ship.
Can I undo mistakes or come back to a project later?
Yes. Full undo/redo while you work, an autosave slot that keeps your latest session, and named Save As drafts for projects you want to keep separate.
Can it choose the best photos from an album for me?
Yes. In the mobile apps you point it at an album and it scores each photo on your device for sharpness, exposure, faces and subject, then picks the best ones. No browser can read a phone's photo library, so in the web editor you hand over a whole folder instead and the same scoring runs on your own machine. More on how it works.
Can it make a printed photo book?
Yes — choose Build a photo album, pick a hardcover, softcover or layflat book in A4, Letter, A5 or square, and the engine picks the photos and lays out the pages; you edit them one by one and add a cover title. Ordering is in testing and books are not on sale yet. How the book works.
